The Chatsworth Equine Cultural Heritage Organization (ECHO) is pleased to dedicate the following web pages to the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council's Equestrian Committee (CNCEC) . We applaud their effort to bring local schools and community groups together to heighten an awareness for the need to be safe around horses. Remember Chatsworth is a unique area and is one of the last remaining equestrian communities in Los Angeles.
We hope the following student posters will help remind their parents and friends to use caution when driving around horses and riders. We hope every child will have a happy, rewarding, and safe encounter with horses in our Chatsworth community.
Prize money was donated by Councilman Greig Smith, Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, Hans Giraud and Associates, Tolls Brothers, Chatsworth ECHO, ETI Corral 54, and several members of the CNCEC.
Perhaps more important than the money provided we hope the more than 200 children that participated have learned that it can be fun and rewarding to work as a team with other community members in an effort to educate folks about public safety issues. Participating schools: Chatsworth Park Elementary School, Germain Street Elementary School, and Lawrence Middle School will each receive cash awards for use in their art departments.
Prize money for students will be awarded during the Fourth Annual Chatsworth Day of the Horse at approximately 2 p.m., Saturday, June 2, at Ride On -- 21126 Chatsworth Street, Chatsworth. We invite all the students, their teachers, and parents to spend the entire day watching some extraordinary equestrian exhibits starting at 11:00 a.m.
